💡 IMPORTANT

For better compatibility of your CV template with your software, always prefer to use Microsoft Powerpoint in its latest version . This is the tool we used ourselves. If you do not have this software, we recommend that you download the trial version of Microsoft Office for free (30 days).

Step One: Importing Your Resume

Before you start using Google Slides, it is essential to import your file to Google. To do this, it's very simple: log in to Google Drive with your Gmail credentials.

Once logged into your account, click on the + New button at the top left and select Import a file . Then choose your .pptx file from your computer. And there you have it, the file is now successfully imported.

To use it, select your file and click the Open with Google Slides button and Google will give you a short guided tour to help you manipulate the file.

Change the default text to your own

To make editing easier, the resume template was built using content blocks .

Simply select the block of text you want to edit by clicking on it (left-click). Click again to edit the text inside the block.

Change profile picture

Replacing a photo is extremely easy with Google Slides. There are two ways to change the profile photo in your resume template with Google Slides. Which one you choose depends on how you frame your image.

If your image is already well-framed (centered, focus on the face), simply select the demo photo and right-click. Select Replace Image > Import from Computer then choose the photo from your computer.

If your image is not cropped, you can easily make the change with the image crop tool: Right-click > Crop Image. You can now move it within the frame, stretch it, etc.

If you don't have a photo, in Google Slides you can even replace the CV photo with a photo taken with your computer right now. Your photo will directly take the proportions of the template.

Change colors and style

To change the text colors for example, the manipulation is the same as for modifying the text. Simply select the color option once the element is fully selected.

Reorganize the layout

Do you want to move entire blocks? Swap two sections? This manipulation is very simple but requires a little attention to detail. Start by activating Zoom, this will allow you to have more visibility on the selected blocks.

Next, select the items to move one by one by keeping the selection with the Shift key on your keyboard. You can also select them all by dragging the selection over them. Once all the items are selected, move them.

If you selected the wrong item, deselect it by clicking on it while holding your selection with the Shift key.

Save your CV in PDF format

Most recruiters will expect to receive a resume in PDF format. The handling is very simple. Once your modifications are finished, make a simple save by clicking on File > Download then choose the PDF file format.
